Mechanically Cleaned Filters and Strainers


Eaton's mechanically cleaned filters are based on a simple concept: A cylindrical stainless steel housing (1) contains a filter screen (2); unfiltered liquids enter the inlet (3); solids are deposited on the interior surface of the filtration media; and filtered fluid exists at the outlet (4).


When the media requires cleaning (based on time, differential pressure, or manual selection), a cleaning disc (5), removes concentrated solids from the screen by moving down and up inside the screen. Debris (6) collects at the bottom of the vessel which is then purged (7) from the system. the entire cleaning process happens while the filter remains in service, thereby maintaining process efficiency and reducing loss of valuable product.


Eaton's range of automatic self-cleaning filters, dramatically reduce product loss, require minimal operator intervention and improve flow consistency. The MCF features the fastest cleaning action of the mechanically cleaned family. The DCF Series operates at a consistently low differential pressure and delivers simple, reliable operation in which a low initial investment is a key driving factor.

In addtion to the DCF 400, 800, 1600, and 2000, we also offer a DCF filter for Hot Fry Oil processes.
